Banyan Tree - Laying the Foundations The Wah Chang Group was into the distribution of European, Japanese and Korean consumer electronic goods in several Asian countries. The trade relationships with the manufacturers were unpredictable. If the distributors failed to meet their targets, the manufacturers would search for alternatives and if the business was lucrative, the manufacturers used to take over the distribution business... Luxury Hotels and Resorts The first resort, Banyan Tree Phuket, designed by Ho's brother Ho Kwon Cjan, had an indigenous Asian architecture with seaside villas, dark-stained timber, high peaked thatched roofs, canopy beds and edgeless infinity pools that seemed to drop into the ocean. The entire resort completely blended with its natural surroundings. This unique ambience went on to become the trademark of the Banyan Tree luxury resorts, which was widely acknowledged... Angsana Spas and Resorts With a unique philosophy, Angsana introduced its first spa in a resort at Dusit Laguna, Phuket, in October 1999.
